Dear
manager, I learned
from the newspaper that your company wanted to hire an English translator.
I’m interested in this job very
much. I’d like to get this job.
Now I’d like to introduce myself to
you. My name is Li Ping. I’m 30 years
old. I’m 180 cm tall. I’m healthy. I like swimming,
singing and dancing in my spare time. I graduated from Beijing University in
1994.Then,I went to work in Nantong Middle School. In 1996,I began to work in Suzhou Middle School and I have
worked there until now.
I work hard
and I can get along well with others. I’m
good at English and especially my spoken English is very good. I’ve translated many Chinese
books into English. I can understand Japanese and I can talk to foreigners in
Japanese freely.
If you
agree with me, I’ll work hard
and try to be a good translator.
If you
agree with me, please write a letter to me or phone me. I live at No.1 Renmin
Road, Suzhou city. My telephone number is 3654371.
Thank you
very much.
1.对你自己的知识水平、能力和价值做出恰当的评估,陈述你的兴趣和动机;

and fulfilling for me, and I hope they have been the same for you. The enclosed
excerpt from Fortune magazine and the copy of my resume will give you a
snapshot of what I have been doing until recently. In late 19--, I left the
investment advisory business to begin marketing myself for re-entry into the
corporate world. Since leaving Amoco, I have found that I greatly enjoy
working in smaller, more entrepreneurial businesses and that’s what I am
looking for now. My job target is a position with a high management content,
either in operations or in the financial area. Ideally, it would be with a
company that is two to ten years old and has sales of $5-$50 million. Although
I am not looking for investment opportunities, I might consider a limited
investment in the right situation. Geographic location is not a major consideration.
I have some preference to stay in the oil business, but I am
not limiting my search to this area. A favorite alternate industry of mine is
hazardous waste, however I am open to any situation that is challenging and
will make adequate use of my skills. Should you become aware of any of your business associates,

2nd Avenue South Edmonds, Washington 98020 October 25, 2005 Mr. Michael B. Dixon Holland and Hart P. O. Box 2147 Denver, Colorado 80302 Dear Mike, I was interested to hear that your firm is considering ways
to acquire more capability regarding international business transactions. As you know, I have worked as an independent consultant
these past two years dealing with the business, financial and governmental
problems that accompany overseas investments. I have found, however, that
companies large enough to have significant international exposure are bombarded
by major league players such as: a) the large investment
banking houses, b) major
law firms, c)
consulting firms such as McKinsey and Arthur D. Little, d) and,
increasingly, by the consulting units operating within the major accounting
firms. It has become pretty clear that marketing my "Lone
Ranger Act" in the face of this kind of competition is, at best, a
difficult job. For the past few months I’ve been investigating ways to merge my
talents into a better known and more broadly based entity. If you are looking
for additional arrows to round out Holland and Hart’s quiver of talent, then
perhaps we should do some talking. The many hi-tech firms in the Front Range area are beginning
to push into the international arena, and you mentioned that you have already
taken steps to strengthen your intellectual property team. These hi-tech groups
often face significant trade issues in Washington as well as complex government
and financial negotiations abroad. There are many other exporters in this area--such as the U.S.
Meat Exporter Federation (composed of entities such as Monfort)--that are large
enough to have real international needs as well. Some of your "competition" has already mounted a
campaign to try to serve these needs--see the attached flyer on "Going International."
The clipping from the Wall Street Journal of October 16,
19-- shows what firms such as Stearns Roger and Morrison-Knudsen are up against
internationally. I’ve marked the clipping to show how the things we did for
Cuajone parallel what Bechtel is doing now. The resume information attached after the clippings just
mentioned is probably a bit on the over-kill side, but lawyers love to read and
it does demonstrate the extent and depth of my international experience. I expect to travel back east the 6th and 7th of November to
talk to Price Waterhouse’s new affiliate partnership that deals in
"International Financing Consultancy Services," but will be here

If you see a job posting online and it sounds exquisitely
suited to you, you probably feel compelled to submit not only your resume but a
customized cover letter, as well. But job seekers often struggle with
constructing an effective cover letter. It’s important to remember that the
cover letter, like the resume, is a marketing tool. Use it to show how you can
help the company in question. Obviously, different people’s cover letters will
look quite different from one another. But here’s a sample of what such a
letter might look like. Dear (insert name or "Hiring Manager" if name is

I have been seeking just such an opportunity as this, and I think my background
and your requirements may be a good match. My resume is enclosed for your
review. Of particular note for you and the members of your team as
you consider this management placement are my strong accomplishments in
reducing outstandings and reorganizing accounting and collections functions to
achieve improved operating efficiency internally and improved cashflow for the
institution as a whole. Consider the following: Reduced A/R days from 110 to 60.4. Reduced staff by 6.5 FTEs with concurrent increase in total
departmental performance. Reduced patient complaints with simultaneous increase in A/R
collected. Improved cashflow by $1.6 million per month. Additionally, my contributions have been mainly achieved by
improving information flow within the patient financial services function,
improving patient financial services utilization of already available MIS
services, and improving cooperation between patient services and admissions,
UR, contracting, and medical records functions. After fifteen years in patient accounting, I have a thorough
understanding of every aspect of this function in a modern hospital/medical
center setting. My current employer is very happy with my performance, but I
view myself as somewhat of a troubleshooter, and most of the reorganizations
initiated here have already come to fruition, so I am eager to consider new
challenges. If you are seeking a manager who stays abreast of her field,
who understands technology, who earns 100% staff support, and who is as
career-committed as it takes to achieve total success, then please consider
what I have to offer. I would be happy to have a preliminary discussion with
you or members of your committee to see if we can establish a mutual interest.
I will call you within the week to answer any initial questions you may have,
and to hear about your hiring process. Thank you for your attention to these materials. I certainly

1.对你自己的知识水平、能力和价值做出恰当的评估,陈述你的兴趣和动机;

Wade B. Stanford Enclosure
am writing to express my interest in the Sales Manager position advertised on
your Web site. I have enclosed a copy of my resume for your review."
am confident that these combined experiences make me an ideal candidate for
this position."
strongly believe I possess the right combination of skills and experience you
